Creative Summit

In Development

Stakeholders in the arts sector acknowledge the need to change systemic barriers present for diverse artists, but many struggle to change the gate-keeping structures that are in place. To truly create change, decolonized approaches to training and creation must be examined, explored, and adopted across the sector. We have spent the last 8 years engaging deeply in an exploration of what this looks like.

Our Goals for this Project Are:

  • To host an ongoing Creative Summit where we share our innovative approaches, and established professionals interested in this work collaborate with diverse emerging artists from across the country.
  • To offer a brave space for diverse artists and creators both emerging and established, to gather, experiment deeply, plan, develop, and test innovative training and creation approaches that address issues of equity for the sector.
  • To support those artists in the development of practices and approaches that centre decolonized approaches to telling their own stories, and support skills they can use in their own practice and organizations across the country.
