Artist Statement
In the Mall is a collaborative creation that explores the experiences of Abdullahi Ali at a particular time during his educational journey in China. I created the song with voice, an electric guitar, a recently found (and tuned) piano, a glockenspiel, violin (Victoria Yeh), digital and analog drums and a bass guitar my mother gave to me when I was 15 years old.
